Now is the Time!

The following verse from 1 Corinthians and the passage that follows (Ch6, vss 2-10) is a great call to live the Christian life to the full, to be God's transformed people. It is both inspiring and exciting to read.

1 Corinthians 6:2

for He says, "At the acceptable time I listened to you, And on the day of salvation I helped you"; behold, now is "the acceptable time" behold, now is "the day of salvation"- (NASB)

Now is the time to put aside petty ambitions and desires to control and dominate others.

Now is the time to recognise the Holy Spirit as a full member of the Trinity, to acknowledge that the indwelling presence of God is a vital part of our spiritual lives.

Now is the time to acknowledge that our intellects are sinful, biased and prejudiced, that without the Holy Spirit we inevitably distord God and His word.

Now is the time to accept the gifts that God gives to his people, because He only gives good gifts for the building up of the body of Christ. Luke 11:13

Now is the time to put aside all traditions, practices and beliefs that do not originate from God, that taint the Church and reduce it's effectiveness as the manifestation of Christ on earth.

Now is the time to recognise false prophets and deal with them in mercy and love, to reject beliefs that do not conform to God's word.

Now is the time to acknowledge the visible work of God, but also to be genuine and to aviod misrepresenting or exaggerating what God is doing through His Spirit.

Now is the time to ensure that everything we do has solid support in scripture, for God does not change.
